Evelyn I. Hedderich, 92, Longtime Fair Lawn Resident

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Fair Lawn resident Evelyn I. Hedderich (Grill) died  Saturday, June 4. She was 92.

Hedderich resided in Fair Lawn for the past 57 years and was a parishioner of St. Anne’s R.C. Church in Fair Lawn. 

She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Little Ferry and, prior to retiring, worked was a switchboard operator with Ma Bell – NJ Bell. She also worked as a phone operator for Macy’s in Paramus. 

Hedderich is survived by her daughter, Debbie Tucker and her daughter, Sally Tapp Dickau and her husband, Richard. She also is survived by her brother, Henry Grill; and her grandchildren, Alexis and Adam Tucker and Christopher Tapp.

Hedderich was predeceased by her husband, Henry Hedderich.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Vander Plaat–Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. 

A funeral service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. 

Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus.
